Discussão:Ducado da Bretanha

I can't write this in Portugese, but when Ana da Bretanha (Anne de Bretagne) died, her older daughter Claude de France became Duchess of Brittany. Francis 1st of France married her, so Brittany remained united with France. Their first son (François (III), dauphin de France) became Duke when Claude died in 1524.

In 1532, Brittany asked for union and a treaty was signed between France and Brittany was definitely united with France as a foreign nation.

So 1532 is the official end of Breton independance.

I am under the impression that Claude was Duchess of Brittany as the father of Louis XV of France, for instance: a nominal duke, with no active ruling involved. Can you provide a reference for Claude actually being the chief of state of Brittany? Muriel 11:21, 2 Ago 2004 (UTC)
